Hello, my name is Shane Valentine. I am the Founder, Owner, and Creator of Different Mentality Training. DMT was built from real struggle, real growth, and a real passion for helping others become stronger both mentally and physically. For years, I battled my own mental health challenges. Like many people, I spent a long time feeling like I had to keep everything inside, act strong, and push through in silence. Therapy became a turning point in my life. It taught me that strength is not pretending everything is okay but that real strength is being willing to face what’s going on internally and work through it. At the same time, fitness and exercise became one of the most powerful outlets for my mental health. The gym gave me structure during chaos, confidence during self-doubt, and discipline during difficult seasons of life. Training became more than building muscle, or changing my body, it became therapy in motion. DMT was created to combine those experiences into something bigger than fitness alone. This business is about helping people build strength from the inside out. It’s about creating an environment where mental health conversations are normalized instead of hidden. It’s about proving that you can struggle mentally and still grow physically, emotionally, and personally. Too often, mental health carries a stigma; especially in a world where people feel pressure to appear confident, disciplined, and “put together.” DMT exists to challenge that mindset. Here, vulnerability is not weakness…asking for help is not failure…growth is not just measured by weight lifted or pounds lost, but by resilience, consistency, and the willingness to keep going.
